Instant Pot Whole Chicken Recipe

One of the easiest and most simple recipes i’ve ever done in the Instant Pot was cooking a whole chicken- from frozen! It’s crazy simple, and the chicken comes out so tender and delicious. (If your new to the Instant Pot, check out my Instant Pot 101 video to give you all the basics!)

I literally just season mine with some salt, pepper, garlic, and you can ad some carrots, celery, and onion if you so desire!

Here are the cooking times i’ve had success with:

FROM FROZEN

  • 3 pound frozen chicken: 33 minutes
  • 4 pound frozen chicken: 44 minutes
  • 5 pound frozen chicken 55 minutes

Basically for every pound add 11 minutes.

After the cook time is finished, do a 20 minute natural release. (So wait 20 minutes before turning the valve to release pressure.) And it’s ready to eat!

FROM REFRIGERATOR

  • 3 pound chicken: 18 minutes on high pressure
  • 4 pound chicken: 24 minutes on high pressure
  • 5 pound chicken: 30 minutes on high pressure

For every pound you add 6 minutes.

After the cook time is finished, do a 20 minute natural release. (So wait 20 minutes before turning the valve to release pressure.) And it’s ready to eat!

I found these from the recipe on A Mindfull Mom. She’s got great recipes. ๐Ÿ™‚
