I really enjoyed reading your blogs. I’m trying to grow some herbs and specially aloe Vera at home and I noticed u live in Oregon and I’m in Washington where there is not enough warmth and sun. My basil plant died indoors 🙄, so how do U keep them warm in such cold weather?..

Your home is beautiful, I love watching your YouTube videos. Curious, what colour paint did you pick for your bedroom and also main living area. It looks so nice, not cold at all. I’m having trouble finding similar colours that don’t come across cols (if that makes sense). Thanks 🙂

If you press “yoghurt” and then “adjust” it heats up to 180 automatically and you can do something else without the need of checking all the time.

Do you know if it’s possible to do a cashew yogurt in the Instant Pot and if so, do you have the recipe for it? Is it the same as the regular yogurt recipe but with cashew milk and cashew yogurt?

Hi there, I tried to make this cheesecake, but when i opened the pot, the top looked like it exploded and there was cheesecake on the bottom of the pot which looked like a butter slurry. What do you think I did wrong?

Can’t wait to try this! I’ve never made yogurt. Just watched the video and thought I’d pass on how I use whey. When I make farmer’s cheese I save the whey and use it in place of water when baking bread to bump up the protein and nutrients. I also use it as my liquid in smoothies. It can be frozen if you end up with a lot and a friend just told me it’s good in soups and stews and fantastic for soaking beans in to soften before cooking. Looking forward to watching more of your videos!

I came to the comments for the same question. I just made the recipe using dried beans and I am ending up having to pressure cook for another 15 minutes because the beans were still uncooked after 25 mins at the high pressure setting.

I just received an Instapot for Christmas, I am eager to learn how to use it but the steam vents kind of freak me out. This one has two which I find even more confusing.

I’ve seen so many single or small family doing a nobu year but I hadn’t seen one for a family. I have 4 children as well so I loved hearing your rules for this. I think 3 months is the perfect starting point. I want to try this because yeah we eat out too often. But i haven’t talked to my husband about it yet. My biggest challenge would be no online shopping. I only have 1 daughter so when i see some cute clothes for her (hello zulily and the like) i just buy them and say oh it’s for Easter or another special occasion. Itll be great to hear your progress!

Oh I totally know what you mean! It does seem like the majority of people documenting their no-buy’s are without children… but that’s not to say we can’t do it! I think the key is just making sure that the rules accommodate your different circumstances. And if you feel like ya spend too much online, then this will help! Or you could even set a specific budget for kids clothing for each month… no shame in that! One thing that’s helping me is unsubscribing from email lists. At least for those stores that always trigger me! 😉

I think this is amazing! I just watched your makeup declutter and you are so inspiring! I think your rules are perfect and I am glad you are starting to do a date night. My husband and I started that and we are loving it! I am on a no buy with makeup and have started doing my own hair and that actually gave us extra money for date night and I am really excited about the makeup I have and plan to do more declutters. Good luck!!

I successfully made soy yogurt thanks to this post and your youtube video. I’ve never made yogurt before. It smelled great just like yogurt when I opened the lid. I added maple syrup and raspberries to sweeten it. It tastes fine like yogurt but there is a sour aftertaste. Like something left out of the fridge too long. Is this normal for homemade yogurt or should I not eat it?

Such a great video and blog post! I’m really curious if the dottera cleaning concentrate works as well as the diy cleaners. But I’m so disappointed in the mrs Meyers all purpose. I love the smell, so I wish they had more cleaning power. But now I can be mindful and Chipewyan my kitchen surfaces more, and use a stronger cleaner in the bathrooms.
    Eye opening for sure!

Aw I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I am pretty curious about the doterra and the Young living Thieves as well. Those might need to be in my next experiments! I felt a bit disappointed with those other cleaners too. But I guess if we’re mostly looking at them for the scent and helping to wipe dust / grime off surfaces we’re still alright. Just have to prioritize when it comes to budget and using the right cleaner for each situation… But I’ll be honest- I don’t normally like to keep this many different types of cleaners on hand! 😉

Hello There! I made this recipe last night and it was delicious. However, when I took off the lid, mine had separated and I had to stir to reincorporate. Is this typical? I did not remove the inner seal because you didn’t in the video. Is that what caused it? Thanks so much. 🙂

Yeah, apparently my instant pot just sat there and did absolutely nothing for twelve hours. I had trouble when I got to step five because when I pressed yogurt once it didn’t give me the option of setting the time so I pressed it twice instead. After that it seems like the heat didn’t even make it high enough to do more than keep it luke warm. What did I do wrong?

Hi! Please put a note for your readers that this needs to be mixed fresh daily. It’s only good for a max of 24 hours because as soon as bleach mixes with water, it begins to degrade. Maybe you could also include that splash-less and scented bleach don’t disinfect because they don’t have the required percentage of bleach. They are for laundry only and that’s why there aren’t disinfecting instructions on the bottle.

I made this last night but when I tried to stain it in my yogurt strainer it just all went right through. Do you cool it before staining it by chance? I bought a different yogurt strainer than you used, but a yogurt strainer none the less.
